Sticky fingers

I’ve been stealing from work for several years now. I feel guilty but still do it because it’s so easy. I tell myself that I’m justified because they don’t pay me enough and I bust my ass everyday doing my job. It’s very physical and I’m not getting any younger. I’n not asking if I have a problem. I already know I do. I want to know if there’s a lot of people who steal from their jobs the way I do.

It’s called shrinkage and what you said is an excuse. Did you ever think if you actually changed your attitude and impressed your boss you may get a promotion and make more money? You never got anywhere because you felt sorry for yourself instead of trying to improve.

No, and it sounds like the guilt is getting to you! You know you will eventually get caught, so you just leave before they find out. If they do, your employers can press charges. I don’t think you want this on your record.

I did the same once, I mean it was just a few drinks here and there and a few lunches for free, or more like everyday, but it was shit pay and the boss was one cruel man who under paid us compared to a lot of the other stores, so i dont feel bad about it one bit, im now working somewhere where i get paid great wages and if i do steal anything its post its.

    Smile.

I have done it in the past. My current job is electronic, so I avoid temptation altogether. It’s all trackable and recently two people were fired for stealing online.

I like my job and they pay me well. I’ve been with the company 7 years now and don’t want to lose it over my own stupid greed.

Yes, I used to charge adult haircuts as childrens’ haircuts and take the difference as tip money or charge haircuts as bangs (about a $10.00 difference). The pay sucked and the employers were evil jerks. I do not regret it. I was a college student that could not even afford toilet paper. I would also take hair product, free services and I would not clock out during lunch.

And to Futurist: Some employers are evil. No matter how hard you try, or how hard you work, they will NEVER recognize it because that means they would have to pay you more which means they would not benefit as much. And they are greedy. If you have a great boss, congratulations. Not all people are that lucky.

I now have a wonderful boss. She is great and fair. I would never DREAM of stealing from her. But my old bosses can go $#%& themselves.

I have worked in my field for 11 yrs & have been at my current job for 2yrs. I am a manager but have never gotten a raise, they say its because I get the best shifts with the most tips. Its bullshit, I make min wage & maybe $25 a day in tips so i steal $5 or $10 almost everyday.
