My Boss is Unethical

My boss cheats the company – stupid stuff, “borrowing” 100$ from petty cash, lying about his expense account, manipulating time cards, etc. He lies on reports to make our division look better than we are. I am very uncomfortable working for him, but I need my job, and (used to) love my work. I am afraid to tell his boss because it’s a small corporation and he will know that I am the one who told, since I am the only one who knows. I wish he would get caught and get fired.

Hve you ever thought that if he does get caught you will be fired alongside? Its called a conspiracy. You and him are the only ones that know and he will drag you down also if he gets caught.

    Think about it!!!!

This must be a horrible position to be in. What is inevitable is that your boss will get caught at some point down the line. If they find out that you knew about this and didn’t tell anyone, you might be in some trouble. I really believe that honesty is the best route. Even though it seems like you can’t tell anyone because of the small company you work for, I know that you will be rewarded for your honesty. Maybe they’ll fire him and promote you!! Just do what you know is right… You may regret not doing so later on.

Honestly, I had a boss like that, but she owned the company. Didn’t stop me from shopping her to the authorities. When everything settled two things had changed:
    1) I had no job
    2) She still had her company.

Oh, wait: only one thing had changed: I had no job.

BUT!!! On saying that, I’d do it again in a heartbeat. You are the one who has to wake up in the morning and look at yourself in the mirror. If you can’t stand the person staring back at you, then you need to get rid of that negativity.

ordinarily, I don’t believe in God or Karma, but after this; my boss had her house broken in to and she lost everything that was important to her. Her car was stolen and used in a crime in the North of Ireland. The office was broken in to and everything was stolen. Her boyfriend left her because she was “too needy” and the rest of the staff was investigated by the fraud squad and ended up leaving because she was defrauding the state. She has: a house with nothing in it, no friends, no staff, and a computer business with no computers.

Make of that what you will.

I would get a lawyer and document all that you know. Then, I would send a letter to you boss saying that “We are watching you” in a company envelop. After that I would tell you boss that you receive a call for the IRS or Tax man asking about his or her character. You are lying to yourself about the bad things that are happening in front of you. So you might as well lying to your boss about the tax authorities. This will be fun and maybe you will lose your job and get a better one.
