Mom, Dad
You raised a blonde haired, blue eyed girl who you thought would get married to a white male, have lots of natural white children and follow the religion you bought me up in.
I married a black woman, we have four adopted daughters of different races, we’re pagan.
I’ve never been happier. I may even send you a picture, hopefully the shock will kill you.

Nice going bud!…but that pagan part although not really an issue, it’s nothing to really boast about…don’t blame it on their religion it’s usually people’s messed-up interpretation of “religion” that makes us sick to our stomach.
Many blessings to you both!

I dont understand where you are from and what religion you are, above comment I am refering to. But where I come from we respect one another, perhaps religions differ but I will happily say I am a christian but I cannot accept the hate towards love of the same sex. Love is love, and love is something we are suppose to share, your comment was nothing but hate!
To the woman who confessed this, good luck darling, I think your wonderful.

you should try loving your parents too. They may not share the same views as you, but wishing they would die isn’t really funny and ruins the whole message.

So, you made those choices because that was what you wanted, or because you knew those were the most extreme positions you could find to p*** off your parents?
Pettiness isn’t pretty.

Wow. Way to put your adoptions at risk through this “anonymous” confession posting. “At risk?” you ask? Why?
Because many states have statutes on the book which preclude same sex couples or homosexuals from adopting:
Florida — Florida Statute § 63.042
Mississippi — Mississippi Statute § 93-17-3(2)
Michigan — See M.C.L. §710.24; Matter fo
Adams, 473 N.W.2d 712 (Mich. App. 1991)(holding that two persons not married to each other cannot jointly adopt a child). In 2004, Michigan’s Attorney General issued an opinion that samesex couples who are legally married in another state may not adopt in Michigan as a couple because Michigan does not recognize same-sex marriages from other states, nor does it allow
same-sex couples to marry in Michigan. See Op. Mich. Att’y Gen 7160 (2004)
Utah — Utah Statute § 78-30-9
So congratulations on having a happy fmaily.
But if someone follows the ISP address associated with your “anonymous” posting, you may have put your family in jeopardy.
Prudence before pride.

Well, only a theist could be as vindictive as that.
Are you trying to imply you are better then your parents?
I question the validity of your statements as a whole. It almost seems you wrote that “confession” so you could get people rilled up.
I also think that YOU are to wrapped up with race, why does it matter that you are blue eyed and blond haired? Would I not have gotten the point if you just pointed out that the person you married was different then what your parents would have liked?
If this is a true “confession”, it looks like you haven chosen love to make a statement and in my opinion that would be one of the worst ways to go about loving someone.

It’s better help your parents to be better people than hate them because they aren’t.

As an adult she’s accountable for what she writes. Stop making excuses. What kind of person tells their parents to die, in such a smug, cold-hearted manner?
My parents were terrible. They abused me verbally, psychologically and physically. Now that I’m grown up, I see them as human beings, not so much as parents. I see them as people who were struggling, who had their own pain and limitations. I still think they were bad parents, but as human beings I’ve forgiven them.

It’s amazing how many people want to discourage you from living a life where you are happy and there is love. This world seems bent on telling people who to love and who to hate. Glad you’re happy and you have given four children a loving home. Good luck with everything. And eventually, your hatred for your parents will fade and you will pity not despise them. xx

“…Just goes to show you that Pagans aren’t peaceful people!”
So anyone who says anything is a representative of their religion as a whole, and all the people following it?
If this is the case, then there isn’t a “peaceful person” in the world. Rethink your statement Larry Vickers. Using your logic I could characterize ANY religion as bloodthirsty and without morals.
The world doesn’t work that way.
To the original confession, good for you. I hope you continue to do what makes you and those close to you happy.

Until you forgive your parents for whatever hurt you feel they inflicted on you, you will never be free. You think you are now because you’ve made the choices mentioned, but you are still dragging around a huge load of old baggage around and it hinders you from moving on in a truly good life.

Christians, as well as Islamists, are not peaceful people. They’re the ones who hold sexism, racism, fascism, homophobia, xenophobia and megalomania.
The Bible teaches us that women are inferior sex objects. Women are raped and beaten multiple times in scripture. It teaches us to kill members of other faiths, homosexuals, adulterers, atheists, pagans, false teachers, disobedient children and anyone else who God wishes to be executed.
Monotheism is the virus of mankind. It is the purger of reason and knowledge, which seeks to destroy ideals and freedoms that are physical and undeniable truths backed by evidence, embraces the delusional desire of immortality as a reality, and teaches that willful ignorance is a virtue.
“Whenever morality is based on theology, whenever right is made dependent on divine authority, the most immoral, unjust, infamous things can be justified and established.”
– Ludwig Feuerbach
So, Mom and Dad, I confess this; I am an atheist. And quite staunch atheist at that. I have rejected Christianity and the Bible, and all religious belief, since the age of 17. Even hearing the name Christ makes me cringe. I’m quite disgusted by religion and will continue to be until my death. So there it is. Like confessing a murder (as our society treats atheism).

Aha! you’ve all tried and failed to come up with the motivation for this post, but I have the answer!! The author quite obviously wanted to read all the stupid and judgmental crap that everyone would post because for some reason, deep down inside you all believe that you and only you are doing life the way everyone else should. Kudos to you, mysterious author, I hope you had a good chuckle at these numb-skulls. I know I did!
note to commentators- there are billions of people on earth. they all live differently. if they all think that their way is better than yours, how can you say yours is the best with any confidence? DON’T JUDGE PEOPLE.
