I know there are exceptions, but how were you treated by your own father? Do you have issues of not being good enough? Were you supported in the things you did as a child, or were you routinely disciplined and corrected rather than praised and supported for the good aspects? At least you are recognizing a bad and unfulfilling pattern... that's a step in the right direction. What sort of guy do you really see yourself with? If you can't see the person you're with, caring for children and caring about the person inside you, then you've met another disposable boyfriend. Best of luck to you in your search.
