I am scared to be on my own…I have been with him since we got out of highschool…I am scared to hurt him…Why am Iso afraid of letting go?
You are afraid to be on your own because for some, being on your own is difficult and scary. You are afraid of letting go because he is like your security blanket. He is familiar. You’ve been together for awhile; there’s history there. If you leave him for this other guy, there is no guarantee that things will work out with the guy you are in love with. Relationships born out of infidelity don’t last. You will live with the guilt and you may regret leaving your current boyfriend. Since you do not want to be with him, muster up the strength to move on. Be honest with him and tell him that you feel that you have grown apart. Be strong, be independent. Never rely on a man to rescue you or save you or make you happy. Happiness comes from within.
Thank You SAVED…this really helped me and I just wanted to let everyone else know I have never cheated on him…The man I am in love with lives overseas and we are just pen pals…I think it was my romantic way of escaping my bad relationship…I used to go to school with him…and please don’t call me heartless…I am in a very bad relationship…truly bad and the only reason I have stayed is because of our baby…
Seriously I agree with Saved. I recently found out the guy I had been with for two years was in love with someone else for one of those years. Instead of breaking up with me he lead me on and her on. It hurt much more to find this out later on than if he had just ended it. I think he’s a coward and lost any respect I had for him. What’s the point of staying with someone when you don’t love them? I applaud you for having the courage to post your secret and don’t mean to sound judgmental, but I can’t help but put myself in your current boyfriend’s position because I’ve been there.
I realized my fear was coming from the simple fact that I do not want to be a single mother…my daughters only 2…I am only 21 and scared out of my mind…but I wanted to thank you…I have told him the truth…everything…and he doesn’t love me anymore either…I am going to move out and just figure out who I am before jumping into a new relationship…Thank You everyone for your input…
