I’m involved with a wonderful man who I love very much but who will never be able to make me happy because of my jealousy. What am I jealous of? The fact that I’m not the first person he slept with (he had sex with one girl and was intimate with another three). That probably wouldn’t seem so unreasonable if I hadn’t slept with fourteen men myself, one of whom I was married to and have a daughter with.

that kind of intense jealousy would still seem pretty unreasonable to me even if you hadn’t slept with fourteen other men. sex isn’t all about possession or control, it’s about sharing love and intimacy, too. but life is about learning how to take care of yourself, and how to make yourself happy—we’re only lucky when we find others who help us with that along the way. you’re right, he will never be able to make you happy until you learn what the root of your insecurities are and how to overcome them. because as adults, we all have a past history of loves and lovers. if that’s the only thing that stands in your way, well guess what, the next man will probably never make you happy either.

I agree. Get over it. Everybody gets laid. It is a part of life. Your jealousy will always keep you from being happy no matter who you are with. You are a hypocrite as well. Pull your head out of your ass and figure out what it is that you really want.

My guess is that the only reason you are jealous is because you haven’t had to think or worry about who your partner has ever been with because you have been married and when married those thoughts don’t pass through your mind. Now your single and dating a man and the thought that he has been with other women makes you jealous. You are definitely insecure with yourself and apparently don’t feel that you have what it takes to make him happy in bed. Sex is apart of life and as the other 2 mentioned above, you will never be happy with whomever you end up with because I guarantee you they have all been with many others before you. Shoot, if the guy you are with now has only been with 4 women before you, I would be very satisfied with that number vs. fourteen.
