I only said yes to the ring because his dad has cancer
Posted by Anonymous in Guilt on Oct 4th, 2010 | 3 commentsConfession: I only said yes to marrying my boyfriend because his dad is dying of of cancer and I wanted him to see his son happy before he passed on. My first reaction when I saw the ring was to say that I wasn’t ready for this. I am not doing well in school any more due to stress. All my boyfriend and I do is fight these days.
My marks fell 10% when I heard his dad was pronounced terminal. They fell another 10% when I found he was admitted to the hospital and probably has mere weeks left. I am close to failing out of a program that I have worked hard to get into.

sounds like you need to be honest about the marriage thing..
The death of a family member is a huge thing. Can you find a way to stay supportive while still doing your school work? If not, can you go half time at school because of family issues?
maybe you could sit him down and tell him you think he needs to spend time with his family right now and you want to be there for him but he needs his family more and maybe things between the two of you could slow down just for the time being
Wow. Way to make things worse. I think this is a horrible thing you did. You should feel bad.
