Hypocrite

I am Catholic. A very religious Catholic. I am also 14. My boyfriend lives in another state but from far away knows how to turn me on. I stop him every time. Not because I want him to. But because the guilt is too much to take. Secretly, I wish we could have sex but I know the down side of that. My family, religion, and myself except better than that from me but sometimes I wish I wasn’t any of that. I know right now, God doesn’t love me so much.

Not to worry. If you read your bible you would know that God will never stop loving you. Stop being so religous. Christianity is not catholisism. It is a personal relationship with God. We all are tempted and thats not a sin. It’s only when you give in to temptation that makes it a sin. You are normal God made you that way. Just pray to God in the name of Jesus. You don’t need a preist to confess to. Just Jesus. It’s ok to love your boy friend. If he love you he will wait to you both are ready to get married before sex. Keep the faith.

      Hey girl,

I am not religious at all, but I can tell you that: You can have faith and love at the same time… You are not going to get punished because you have desires; only people who are religious think so. But I can tell you that: we have one life to live and you have to live it the way you want to. Follow your heart!

I am not saying to quit on God… but just be true to yourself and enjoy life; it goes so fast…

In response to your answer, I do not fully agree. She doesn’t need to stop being religious, I’m damn PROUD of this girl for fighting human nature the way God asks us to do, with the help of Him of course. I wish I had an eighth of her self control at her age. FYI- All forms of Christianity stemmed from Catholicism and Judaism before that. And Please don’t try to sway her decision to go to confession. As a Catholic that is her responsibility and a great freeing thing. The reason for confession baffles most people as I’m sure it has confused you. Anyone could ask for forgiveness in their mind, but to go to a priest is humbling thing. You have to go through deep self-examination to find your sins, once you do, you look your sins dead in the eye and take responsibility for them, thereby opening oneself to no only the priest but to God. If your willing to let a man, who’s been in the seminary for years training religiously for spiritual counseling, hear about the humiliation of your sins and resentments, you must wholly want forgiveness. Oh and God meant for us to live in ignorance, ya know be child like? Temptation got in the way of that. (Adam & Eve) I do agree when you said that temptation is not a sin.

      That being said,
Ms. Hypocrite, don’t see yourself so harshly, you are a rare finding in todays world. I love you and look up to you with a great deal of respect and I’m 7 years older than you.

God does not care about you. You are an individual just the same as any other individual on the planet. Your life is your own to lead, the map of your life is yours to plot.

Your guilt comes from wanting to give into your temptation.
Honey, DO NOT feel guilty for the sins you haven’t commited.

I am Catholic too… the guilt will get less and less as you get older. Guilt is the corner stone of our religion, which is great because it keeps you from doing REALLY horrible things… like killing or molesting. It helps you really think about what you are doing. Guilt can be a protective emotion.
