Hung. Over.

I am 17 years old and last night was the first time I ever got drunk. Growing up, I have known the dangers of alcohol. My father’s alcoholism nearly tore our family apart when I was ten. Both of his parents were also alcoholics and I know that my chances of becoming one are higher because of this. My Family is very religious, and I’m sure someone up there is disappointed in me right now.

Truth: The hell with “up there” I’M disappointed with you and I don’t even know you. You know the dangers and still put that crap in your body? If you decide to drink don’t ever blame anyone for the problems in your life or family, because you dear will be just a big a part of the problem. You are way to smart for this crap your 17 and you already can see the problem. No all you have to do is make a choice, road to the right or road to the left.

Aw don’t be so hard on yourself. What you did was not illegal, however 17 is not of drinking age no matter what country you are in so be careful. My grandmother (who raised me) was very religious so I understand what you mean, but you shouldn’t feel like a horrible person. As long as you are responsible, drinking alcohol when you are of age is fine. I don’t drink often, but I do drink at parties or social events and I do so moderately. If you do choose to drink, please do so with moderation, therefore you won’t get sick and harm your liver. If your friends drink and you don’t want to, you don’t have to and if they can’t deal with that, then they truly are not your friends.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. Good Luck!!

Trying it is normal. Don’t be so hard on yourself.

Think about what led you to try it… curiousity? Peer pressure? In the future, have a plan for how you might react in a situation where drinks are being offered to you.

    Let go of the guilt.

the hysteria surrounding the evil of alcohol makes it worse. in moderation, as long as you are not relying on it to get through the day or to numb your feelings or forget don’t feel guilty.
it is perfectly acceptable to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner and you’ll never know ‘moderation’ til you try it anyway. getting wasted is never to be recommended but you learn by your mistakes and you will as you get older. no one is disappointed in you except yourself. :)

Don’t be so hard on yourself, alcohol isn’t that bad, and there is much worse stuff you could be doing. Good luck. :)
