Why Can’t We Be Friends?

There’s a married guy at the office who insinuated a friendship with me. The conversation never got flirty, with the exception of a wink here and there, and aside from the occasional looks at meetings, I never thought he was interested in me. We saw a theatre performance together and he didn’t try a thing. Finally, I introduced him to my boyfriend and now he won’t talk to me and rarely looks at me.
All I wanted was a friend and you seemed like you wanted the same. I wish you would have been open about your intentions before I became emotionally involved. Nobody ever tries to befriend me. Aside from my boyfriend, I am extremely lonely. Thank you for letting my hopes down, scumbag.

  1. Dear Friend,

You’ve managed to clear your mind well. In the future, it might not be a good idea to get involved emotionally with people at work. Co-workers are mostly competitors and strangers. Why not join an activity group in your area and meet some real friends? Take care now.
