I used to have gerbils when I was a child. I forgot to feed them and they all died.
I just noticed the heading that this is under. ‘Fear’. Were you afraid of them, is that why you didn’t feed them?
I forgot to feed them because they were in my basement. I think I put fear by accident or default or I wasn’t wearing my glasses.
I have exactly the same guilt.. we had a very violent hampster, and we left him in a cage in the basement..he’d attack when we’re try to feed him or clean the cage.. then he started to lose his hair.. I still dream about having pets that forgot to feed, or pets getting smaller and smaller and dying!
i had a turtle who died in the same way:( but don’t worry, kids often make this kind of mistakes, they are not mature enough to be called responsible..
I had a couple pairs of gerbils that suffered similar fates.. and it haunted me for years as i was growing in to my conscience, like some nights every once in a while i would remember them and then sob tragically with guilt and remorse.. we kept them in a cage in my room (i was 4?)..it wasn’t until too many years ago that i actually realized, it was my freaking parents fault…i was 4!!
your parents should of fed them. twats
