He was hopelessly in love with me and I had only ever wanted to be best friends. I was simply not attracted to him. But those drunken nights became more frequent, and soon I would find myself with my arms around him while both of us were completely sober. Three years later and we are married. I can tell you one thing: alcohol does not make most people do things they didn't already want to do; it just makes them less likely to hold back. I'll bet she wanted to see how it felt in your arms and if she liked it there, and at worst she found out she didn't. Even if things don't go well like "don't do it" says, you will have the peace of mind that you ACTUALLY KNOW how he she feels. I went through the same situation you did, i mean everything , the drinking waking up next to you beloved best friend, but i had to get the courage to ask if it was gonna be this way forever, the person said no. But my god I thank him everyday i asked, because I would still be sitting here like a loser thinking about it. Knowing how the person felt about the situation changed my life. It allowed me to MOVE ON. We are still friends. And I have met someone amazing because I was no longer waiting around for my best friend to show signs of feelings towards me.
