I wanted to cry when I read this. You have to go back and tell her you messed up, that everything you wanted was right in front of you. I think you needed to loose her to realize she was what you wanted. If she loves you, she will hear you out.

If you left her for another woman then the damage is done. If you truly do love her, then you will not hurt her further.
This happened to me once. The first guy I was madly in love with left me for someone else. It was agonizing and I was devastated but over time my heart started to heal… and then, when it was convenient for him, he wanted me back but he didn’t consider the wounds he would rip back open. I was pissed at him for putting me in that position because my heart still loved him but my mind couldn’t trust him and of course he had to dump this on me right in the middle of stressful time in my life which took my focus away from where it needed to be and made everything worse.
Leaving someone for someone else is more than just an “oops”. It brings out all kinds of heartache, you don’t feel good enough, you can’t trust like you once did and honestly, something like that remains in the back of your mind always even if you do forgive. If she does forgive you and you do get back together, you better be sure you won’t hurt her again.
It’s good that she won’t forgive because you threw away your life so you deserve to be unhappy. Your ex sounds like a smart person and you sound like scum.
Just move on and learn from what you did and never do it to another woman you fall in love with in the future.
