It’s interesting, my sister loved high school and hated college. I was the opposite: I look back at HS with such sad and angry emotions (which is partly due to adolescence in general) but I had much more fond memories in college. And even better times after graduating college into today.

Just because everyone else feels they HAVE to be having the time of their life in High School (and that’s how it’s portrayed by Hollywood) doesn’t mean it needs to be that way for you. You’ll probably have better times ahead and everyone else will just want to be reliving their HS years later on (which looks ridiculous when you’re getting into your 30s)

Okay so “posted by Sad in Alone”

I’m guessing when you talk about high school, you’re talking about not having a girl friend or boy friend?

If that’s what you want, then just start asking people out. you should get a hit after about 5 or so assuming you’re asking people who are on the same attractive level as yourself.

Feel embarrassed? Afraid of rejection? There is no cure, and nothing i say and nothing anyone can say will help with that. However, the more times you are rejected, the less embarrassed and afraid you will feel. You may not believe me, but it’s true.

If you were talking about not having friends… then… Thats kind of a different story isn’t it? I honestly have no idea how to make friends. I kind of lucked out in high school. I’m not a people friendly person so if it weren’t for a previous friend i knew from middle school that i met again in high school, i don’t think i would have gotten along with anyone. In fact i know i wouldn’t have. I’d have no friends. so i can’t really help with that.

other than trying to hang out with the stoner’s. From my experience, they are generally really nice people. Not only that, they are usually really accepting. Some of the nicest people i’ve met in high school were stoner’s. Plus with them as friends you’ll always be able to get your hands on some weed. Point of advice, they may be very nice, but if you rat on them, they will turn on you in a second. So if anything goes south, don’t be a snitch. Afterwards, you guys will be even closer friend cuz they’ll know they can really trust you.

Probably not the best advice… suggesting that you hang with pot heads. But tbh, it’s not going to ruin your life. Only you can do that. just have self control if you’re going to get into drugs. You don’t even have to smoke weed with them to hang out. They might pressure you into it a little, but it won’t last for more than a week at first. Pot heads are some of the best people you can be friends with just because they are just so mellow, nice, and all around cool with every thing. at least from my experience.

The very best thing that can be said about high school is that it is temporary, my friend. And the most untrue thing that is too often said about high school is that it is supposed to be “the time of your life.”

Think about it: most people live to be about 70 or so. If you top out in high school, at age 16-18, that’s a long, slow downhill slide. Fortunately, life just isn’t like that — thank goodness.

For me, high school was not even the beginning of my life — it was the end of my childhood. The ass end. College was infinitely better, my twenties better still, my thirties were downright awesome, and now that I’m in my low forties, I feel like I’m just hitting my stride. Better still, high school now feels like nothing more than an unpleasant memory that’s a million miles behind me in my rear view mirror.

Go ahead, hate high school. Hate it with a passion. Hate it with every fiber of your being. And enjoy the feeling of hating it. It will make the moment of your graduation all the more sweeter — when you toss your cap into the air, you’ll also be tossing away your final shackles of misery and ready to begin your entry into a far bigger, far better world.

Believe me high school is NOT the time of your life. People used to say that to me, and now that I am older I think “what were you talking about!” Life gets so much better, and the majority of people will agree with me. High school sucks, and those that life their life FOR high school end up verry sad after it is over. It is only 3 years!!

HIGH SCHOOL IS FAR FROM THE BEST TIME IN YOUR LIFE!!!!!!

if highschool is as good as it gets i would have killed myself a long time ago.

for me life gets better and better the farther away from highschool i get. and i liked highschool.

I guess it is, many years later, when you are doing something else you hate.

High school is terrible. There a few people for who high school was the time of their life, but for most high is awful. And isn’t it kind of sad to have the best years of your life over when you’re 18? For you though, life will only get better!
