I always hated my birthday parties – as a kid – and now that I am over 40 I refuse to have anymore birthday parties. I hate my birthday.

Been there done that for like 13 years now. I had lied to my friends about my non existing gf at 17, so my 18th birthday came up and i was afraid they would show up so i cancelled it. I never had a birthdayparty since.

Dont have to have a huge party, just get a couple of mates dress nicely and go out to a club or something, than you will have heaps of people to party with you.

take yourself to a spa or an adventure holiday. they have lots of travelling groups that single travellers can join. say: this year – i’m going to treat myself for my bday and go to a tiger safari in india…research it..book the ticket and GO! you’ll meet ppl there :)

I understand same thing with me. My parents assume it is because my “friends” are too busy. It’s because there aren’t any “friends” to show up. My 19th birthday was in January during my winter break. My sister had school, my parents both worked all day, and my dog wouldn’t stay in the same room with me. It was a typical birthday for me and it saddens me that I just go with it now.

OMG, me too! I feel that way to and haven’t had a birthday party in a long time too. I thought I was the only one. But as I have gotten in my twenties, I realize that big parties are overated. I enjoy my family or few friends company over dinner or shopping.

I had a party when I was 12… almost nobody came… now I am 19… since 12 I never had one again and I don’t want to have one… ever again… It felt awful when no one came… everybody was always making fun of me… everybody still is… it’s awful…
